Education & Awareness
THE CHILD SEXUAL ABUSE PREVENTION TASK FORCE WILL INCREASE UNDERSTANDING OF RISK AND PROTECTIVE FACTORS FOR CHILD SEXUAL ABUSE PERPETRATION AND VICTIMIZATION BY BUILDING COMMUNITY AWARENESS AND SOCIAL MOVEMENTS.
Promote and facilitate training
Offer CSA 101 presentation for parents, caregivers, teachers, and other professionals on child sexual abuse, recognizing grooming behaviors and how to respond to signs of child sexual abuse.
Deliver Nurturing Healthy Sexual Development training that educates professionals and caregivers on how to promote healthy sexual development in children and prevent sexual abuse.
Create public service announcements/public relations
Host community events and forums to raise awareness and educate the public about child sexual abuse.
Utilize social media and other online platforms to share information and promote public awareness.
Promote resources
Provide educational materials and resources to the public about child sexual abuse, including prevention strategies.
Recent Events
The Director of the North Dakota Child Sexual Abuse Prevention Task Force travels statewide to conduct educational sessions and raise awareness about child sexual abuse. These sessions focus on the devastating impacts of such abuse on children, emphasize the importance of primary prevention, and provide insights into understanding risk and protective factors.
The goal is to foster collaborative efforts to ensure the safety and well-being of all children, reinforcing that prevention is possible.
