BODY SAFETY

When some caregivers think of teaching body safety, they have many questions and might be uncomfortable.  We’ve created resources to help make these conversations easier!

Keeping children safe from sexual abuse is the responsibility of adults. However, these simple yet empowering skills can make all the difference in a child’s life. Many adult survivors of child sexual abuse say if only they had known from the first inappropriate touch that it was wrong, how different their lives might have been. There have been interviews conducted with convicted child sex offenders who sexually abused children and they say things like: “If I had any idea they were talking about it, I would have thought twice.”

Teaching body safety is essential in the prevention of child sexual abuse.
